The Domino Effect and Brick Laying: A Useful Combination

What do dominoes and brick laying have in common? Had you asked me last month, I would have said nothing.

But a family member passed this video along to me a week or two ago, and I have to admit that it's pretty cool. When I first watched it, I wondered why anyone would take so much time to set up bricks as dominoes, but as you'll see, there's a purpose to it. Make sure you keep watching to the end.

The answer to how this works lies in the spacing. When the last domino falls, a perfect space is left, enabling the previous brick to fall into place and so on down the line. (It still seems like a lot of work to me, but it was fun to watch).
