Fun Useless Websites

It's been quite awhile since I've posted any of those fun sites that are, essentially, useless. I used to call them time wasters, but...in times of stress (hey, I'm living in the USA in an election year!) it can be soothing to do something mindless and cute from time to time, so here goes.

Ducks Are the Best (move your cursor and create an endless line of ducks while--admittedly annoying--bright colors flash in the background). Not sure about this one, but maybe some of you will find it dazzling.

Sell Me Something Weird and Confusing

I'll admit I was mesmerized by this one. It's just a button. Click it and it will take you to unusual things being sold on Amazon, and if you've been around here long enough, you know that I am fascinated by bizarre things for sale on the internet. I didn't stay on here long (although I could have kept clicking for hours). In the brief time I was playing (?), I found:

A book on how to craft with cat fur

A 60-lb block of cheese for $1,078. Hmm...

Weave Silk Click on colors and move the cursor around to create interesting designs.

This one is actually pretty good.  A friend recommended it to me, and I had all but forgotten about it. Sporkle consists of a bunch of quizzes you can take. I think you can create an account and compete against your own record (not sure, since I haven't been here more than once or twice), but you can also participate without joining if you don't care about records and such.

Lastly (for today) is one I already posted elsewhere (Twitter, I think). It's Doughnut Kitten, just a kitten floating around on a doughnut while your screen fills up with pastel rainbows. Not much to see here, but it can be rather soothing if you're in the mood for kittens and rainbows.

Okay, I'm off to do something constructive (although I really want to spend more time hunting down weird things for sale and doing quizzes). I hope you find something here for those times when you need to kill a minute or two. Have fun!

  1. The crafting with cat hair is a bit off-putting.

    1. Mary, I agree there's a certain ick factor to that one. Are people saving little bags of fur their cat sheds until they have enough to...I don't know...knit a scarf? (If I recall correctly, there were actual reviews of this item).
