What I'm Reading Now

A few years ago, having watched the movie Spirited Away, by Hayao Miyazaki (which I loved), I also watched his version of Howl's Moving Castle.

But I had never read the book. Actually, I didn't even know that there was a book. There is, in fact, a 3-book series, the first of which, Howl's Moving Castle is the basis for the movie. Written by Diana Wynne Jones, who wrote more than 40 books for young readers, the book was enchanting and fun.

I had to read the others, so I'm continuing on with Castles in the Air and House of Many Ways. Fun!

What are you reading this week?

Have a wonderful day!

  1. A few days ago I read Carol Burnett's Carrie and Me and Tina Fey's Bossypants. Just finished two Steve Smith/Red Green books yesterday (one was boring so I just skimmed it) and today I read Laura Moore's Once Tasted. I think Maisey Yate's Avenge Me is next in my pile.
I hope you've survived your recent vacation! I am now recovering from my sister and her husband visiting off and on in June and July (totally almost 3 weeks). You know the drill: Nice to see them come, nice to see them go....

  2. "Howl's Moving Castle" is one of my daughter's favourites. I can actually see it on the book shelf from here.

  3. Laney4, you are a fast reader! That's wonderful. So glad that you had a good visit. I always feel that way about vacations. I love taking them, and I also love returning to the comforts of home.

  4. Mary, I just finished the 3rd book in the series. I enjoyed the books so much that I read them quickly. Now I'm going to have to go looking for all of the author's other books (I think there are about 40).
