Apparently, the original magic wallet (which dates back to 1920) was developed so that wait staff could easily and quickly put their tips away. Today lots of companies make them, and they come in all sorts of designs, including ones made from recycled materials, but there are also a number of how-to videos available, including some on how to make them out of duct tape and/or index cards. The one below shows how to make a magic wallet for gift cards or money. It's rather long, but it uses greeting cards as a base, which I thought was fun, so here goes.
