A Visit to the Park

When my children were younger, we occasionally visited this little park in Downers Grove, Illinois called Patriots Park. It had a pond stocked for fishing, a shore path, picnic tables and a playground. Perfect for a short family outing. But although I've driven past there any number of times in recent years, I haven't stopped there in at least a decade. Today we decided that it was time for a picnic a bit farther afield, so off to Patriot Park we went. They've made some improvements, including plantings and a better path.

The flowers were in bloom:

It was a nice trip down memory lane.

I hope that your day was fun, too!

Walking through our local park today, the sun may have been shining, but the trees said Winter.

I had a lovely visit with girlfriends 1.5 hours away. Got home, asked my daughter to come over to help me tidy/clean my house (because we have company expected here in 3 hours' time), took her and her fiance out for supper, played cards at their place afterward, did four loads of laundry, finished up a new work contract, and hit the sack just after 2 am. Wonderful, wonderful day. Thanks for asking. (Glad you had a wonderful day too, Myrna.)

Mary, I'm glad that at least the sun was shining. After our very long, cold and snowy winter, I think everyone here is still stunned that we have flowers blooming. I like a bit of winter, but not too much.

Laney4, that sounds like a lovely day! And a productive one, too (always nice).
