It's National Play-Doh Day!

I have to confess that I don't remember too much about Play-doh when I was growing up (although I do know that I had some). Most of my memories of the stuff are from the years when my children were young. By then there were all kinds of gadgets to interact with Play-Doh, and you could buy it in many colors. But most of all, I remember the scent. Who doesn't? Right now, sitting here with nary a container of Play-doh in my vicinity, I can still remember exactly what it smells like. And strangely enough, if I wanted to go around smelling like Play-doh, I could. Demeter Fragrance produces Play-doh scented cologne.

But if you'd rather just play with the squishy, claylike material, here are some ideas on things you can create, direct from the Play-doh site.

According to the National Toy Hall of Fame (Play-doh was inducted in 1998), it is estimated that kids have played with 700 million pounds of Play-doh (so far).
