A Day in India

I love to travel, but I doubt that I'll ever get a chance to visit India. Still, there are videos such as this one by The Perennial Plate, that make India feel a tiny bit closer. This video was filmed over a 3-week period, then edited into "one day."

I sometimes wonder if I would have the ability to write a book about India. I've certainly written other books about places I haven't visited or visited only briefly, but I've had access to so much material that I felt I could do a good job. Plus, I knew people who lived in those places and could answer my questions/let me know if I was being inaccurate. That wouldn't be the case with India, but it's so fascinating.

I recently had the chance to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which was a treat. It boasted a stellar cast (Judy Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Maggie Smith, and Dev Patel, to name a few), but the setting itself was a character in itself. I think that's true of the best stories.

Here's a list of the Top Hollywood Movies Based in India. I haven't seen them all, but I'm hoping to work my way through the list.
