Old T-Shirts Made New Again

Like many people, I love the idea of making something new from something old (or at least from something that is no longer wanted). Around here, t-shirts are plentiful, so that's a good place to start. A quick search of Etsy turned up these:

Braided rugs

A crocheted bowl

A bath math

Lots of bags and totes

Lots of pillows

And lots of recycled t-shirt yarn

Or...make your own yarn, your own rug (yes, I've posted links to braid rug instructions before), your own pillow, or your own tote. Either way, buy or make your own, have fun and feel good about the fact that you're helping keep the earth green by reusing something that might have ended up in a landfill!

I read a post just a few days ago about HOW to cut up your old T-shirts to make the yarn. They managed one continuous piece. I love this idea.

I like the thought of using old t-shirts to make something pretty rather than just using them to wash the car.
