Discovering New (to Me, Anyway) Authors

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Hay-on-Wye, a village in Wales with 1,500 people and more than 40 bookstores. As mentioned, I discovered this town via a book, Sixpence House, which had been an Amazon  Deal of the Month (and still is for a few more days).

At the time, I hadn't started reading the book, but now I have and it's totally engaging, so much so that I've started looking for other books by the author, Paul Collins. Fortunately for me, he has more than a few to choose from. As an added bonus, his website has links to his radio shows (he's the literary detective on NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday).

The most recent book by Paul Collins

I love discovering authors I didn't know existed, don't you? (Although now that I know that he's on NPR, I rather feel as if I should have found one of his books long before this).
