Just Bookcases

It's been a long time since I've done a bookcase post, and frankly I've done so many posts by now that I'm starting to forget what I've already put up here, so my apologies if there are any duplicates. Nothing exciting about this post today. Just bookcases.

I love barrister bookcases. This is from an Etsy shop.

I think I may have posted this one before, but I like it so much that it merits a second showing. It's from an Etsy shop called Beethoven Cabinetry, and the piano is made from a baby grand. (There was another one that actually had the keys, but the image was too small to use here).

  1. I do love beautiful book cases. My parents have this one particular bookcase, with beautiful glass doors that you can lock with a key. Perfect for keeping pesky Grandchildren & great out of their most precious books.

  2. If I had a bookcase, I would keep the books in alphabetical order like in a library - which is difficult to do with some of the above bookcases. For now, though, mine are kept in a vertical filing cabinet in my office beside me - laid down so that I can see the spines, but they ARE in alphabetical order by author. A few others are in my "immediate" TBR pile in order of date received, followed by those from the cabinet (as not every book goes into my TBR pile automatically).
The problem is that I bought way more books than I read a few years back, and I'm slowly trying to catch up. It's difficult, especially when I'm in a book store and see books by my favourite authors that I MUST have (so I DO have).

  3. Mary, I love bookcases with glass (keeps the dust out)!

  4. Elaine, you are so organized! My books end up every which way and I keep changing the way they're organized, but they never end up the way they started (I'm always taking them out and leaving them all over the house).
