Even if You're Not a Photographer, You Can Appreciate This
I'm not a photographer. Not even close. So I know I'll never have a problem with a broken part of my camera, but I know just how expensive photography equipment is, so I can appreciate this man's ingenuity.
We come up with solutions like these all the time. Sometimes we find something perfect right away, and sometimes it can take months until you have that "aha moment" - but it always makes us happy. One of our most-used phrases is, "It just needs a little modification." Yikes!
One example that comes to mind is that my husband takes a frozen water bottle to work every day, but we can't find a cover that fits it well. We ended up buying a taller one that fit the top of the bottle well, and we placed a peanut butter lid in the bottom. Yup, those peanut butter jars sure come in handy!!!
I can relate. We're constantly wandering around the hardware store trying to find some piece that we can remake into something else. Plus, we once got to a campground a thousand miles from home and found that the caps to seal the air mattresses weren't in the car. We ended up buying containers of laundry stain remover, pouring the stain remover into an empty milk jug and using the caps, which were a perfect fit.
I just used a Cheez Whiz lid to hold the badminton shuttles in my tube because the plastic cap could not be found quickly - and it's no fun with birdies falling out of the bottom of the tube!

I feel powerful when I find something that can have dual purposes! LOL
