Libraries are Awesome!

What fun! A library supercut.

Thanks to Julie for this one.

And, if you've never seen it before, here's "Library Girl",  from Get Ready to Be Boyzvoiced, a 2000 mockumentary featuring the fictitious boy band, Boyzvoice. I'm including it here because, spoof or not, libraries and librarians just don't get enough attention.

And let's end this post with a fantastic shot of the reading room of the Harper Memorial Library at the University of Chicago. What a great place to settle down and study or simply read a book!

Mary, I love Mr. Bean too - and a glass of milk, LOL!

I've never been in a "big" library before, so can only imagine the ... uh ... "overwhelmingness" one would feel when standing amongst so many books.

When I visit my hometown, I try to stop in to put their non-fiction books in order. It is a two-floor library, but often only has one person working - meaning that that person has to be on the main level to check out books, etc. and rarely can someone get upstairs to put books away, let alone put them in order. I just love organizing and feeling like I'm helping them out. (It takes me 5 hours straight to do all the non-fiction books.)

I love the scent of libraries. And Mr. Bean? I have a soft spot in my heart for him.

Elaine, how cool that you stop and put the non-fiction books in order in your hometown library. I'll bet it takes you back, gives you a warm feeling and gives the person working a much needed rest. Sounds like a nice day!
