All of that comes in one package. This house in Australia has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the house having the most Christmas lights in the entire world (330,000 lights). To get into the driveway, guests are asked to donate a gold coin, and 100% of the proceeds go to the SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and Kids charity.

I'm thinking this must be the third man-made site you can see from outer space: after the Great Wall of China & a massive dam in China. I hate to think about the power bill.
You might be right about being able to see this from space. I think that someone asked them about the power bill, but they're using LEDs, so it's not too bad.
Oh, I see now. They said that all the electricity they're using is green (renewable sourced), and they only have them on for 3 hours each night.
Talk about wall-to-wall lights. Wow. People are in shorts and T-shirts, though, meaning the lights weren't put up in the freezing cold weather. Nice....
Elaine, good point on the warmer weather. We're always trying to time it for the warmest day in the forecast so that our fingers don't freeze while we arrange the lights.
