What Teddy Bears Really Do For Us...

Who doesn't love teddy bears? They're made to be cute and cuddly, aren't they?

But according to Buzzfeed poster, TxBlackLabel, this image by artist *begemott shows what teddy bears really do for us. I think I agree.

And yes, I know it's a Halloween image, but teddy bears and Christmas just seem to go hand in hand (for me at least), so I hope you'll bear with me for switching the holiday (and for posting something that was making the rounds back in June. My apologies if you've already seen this).

Many moons ago, Santa gave a bear to my daughter, which she named Bear. Santa gave an identical bear to my son, which he promptly named Bear. And lucky for me, Santa gave ME a bear, so I just had to name him Bear! I can still tell the difference between these three identical triplets, and they still have places of prominence/importance in all of our rooms, even though my kids are now in their mid twenties (and I'm not, LOL).

Amazingly enough, I don't remember having a teddy bear (my brother had one, but by the time I came along, it was so grunged up that it looked hideous to me, so I wasn't all that interested in teddy bears). My kids, though, each had a Gund (Barney and Bunky). They were soft, cute, adorable, loved up and had to be thrown into the washing machine several times and they're still here, too. Someday when my guys light somewhere long-term, I'm going to take Barney and Bunky on a road trip to their new homes.

Just wanted to acknowledge how much I'm enjoying this show as a podcast and how great this episode was in particular. Thanks!
