I've seen several videos of these really long roller slides in Japan. I've never seen anything like this in the states. It looks fun (even though I'm sure that I could find some way to fall off and skin my knees).
Have you ever seen one of these? We have roller slides, but they're usually just a few feet long. Very tame in comparison.

Haven't seen anything quite like that, but we have long slides that wind round and round.
I may have to take a trip to Canada (it's been awhile) just to see one of those. I love the inventiveness of playground creators (playground architects? What are they actually called)?
My favorite is West Edmonton Mall's indoor water park (even though I live over 2000 miles away from it) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They have a huge wave pool, over a dozen long water slides, and a tube slide I really enjoy too (where you plop your butt in a water tube going down a water slide). We try to go before the summer rush and get 2-for-1 tickets online first. The last time I went in May/08, it cost $14/ticket and you could stay all day. The mall used to be the largest in the world and has a themed hotel onsite, submarines, roller coasters, ice rink, etc. - and hundreds of stores and restaurants, of course!
I've actually been there (although I think it was way back in something like 1998). We went there and to Banff (which we've visited several times) and had a lot of fun.
